Emsworth used to feed oysters to mayors until it killed four of them in 1902. Most towns would file that under lessons learned. Emsworth filed it under history and moved on to selling its houses at Chichester prices to people who wanted a yacht and a quieter postcode than Lymington. The yachts are now killing the oysters with microplastics, which feels about right.
