Waterlooville
Waterlooville was founded by accident, by soldiers stopping for a drink at a pub named after the battle they had just survived, and the rest of its history has lived down to that beginning. The town centre is a pedestrianised precinct that once had a fountain, vandalised so persistently the council gave up and removed it. The estates went up in the 1960s, the bypass arrived in the 1980s, and the place has been doing exactly what it says on the tin ever since. Cheaper than Petersfield, less connected than Havant, and entirely uninterested in your opinion of it.
