East Horsley

East Horsley is a village an Earl laid out by covenant, and its houses have been keeping a polite distance from each other ever since. Ada Lovelace lived at Horsley Towers writing programs for a machine nobody had built yet; the village now spends that kind of brainpower watching the planning portal. Even the old estate bridges were built so the Earl's timber carts never had to share a road with anyone, which is still roughly the idea.
