Woking
Woking was built by a cemetery company selling off the land it didn't need for the dead, and it has spent the century and a half since mostly as somewhere people pass through on the way to London. H. G. Wells picked it as the spot where the Martians landed and started flattening things, and the town answered by naming its cycle trails after the planets and its swimming-pool flumes after the invaders. That is a town that knows its best review was an alien invasion. The rest of the pitch is the fast train to Waterloo, and the pitch knows it.
