Billericay
Billericay is a market town that last held a market in 1899 and has been living off a boat ever since. Four locals sailed on the Mayflower, and four centuries later the taxis, the morris men and a secondary school still carry its name, which is a lot of loyalty to a voyage none of them came back from. These days the pilgrimage runs to Liverpool Street and back, ending each evening on a high street that even a burning Zeppelin couldn't quite hit. On paper it belongs to the Borough of Basildon, and Billericay would rather you left it on paper.
