Yarnton
Yarnton is where people end up when they wanted Oxford, got priced out of Summertown, and decided the bit in between counted. There is a manor house and an old church for the heritage, and a long run of post-war semis and bungalows doing the actual living. The main road and the railway both pass close enough to join in, so the countryside comes with a soundtrack, and anyone who moved here for the birdsong has learned to call it ambience.
