Wixams

Wixams is a town built from a developer's brochure on the site of a wartime munitions depot, and it has spent most of its life waiting for the things the brochure promised. The railway station was pencilled in so long ago that a generation of commuters gave up asking and bought a second car, and it is only now being built. No public footpath leads out into the surrounding fields, so the countryside is something you admire from the estate, like a painting in a dentist's waiting room. The first school appointed its headteacher before anyone had built the school, and that is still the most Wixams thing that has ever happened.
