Perranporth
Perranporth is what happens when a mining village gets a beach and decides that's the whole personality. Two miles of sand, a surf break, and a main street that exists almost entirely to sell you something to eat while you look at the sand. Winston Graham lived here for thirty-four years and wrote Poldark about the coast outside his window, which means half the people who move here arrived with a television adaptation in their heads and a caravan park in their eyeline. The dunes are genuinely spectacular and the Atlantic does not care about your holiday plans.
