Laleham
Laleham is where people move when they want the Thames without the town attached to it. Matthew Arnold was born here, went off to write about sweetness and light, and came back to be buried in the churchyard, which is about as long as anyone manages to stay away. Estate agents sell the river as a view, and now and then the river takes that as an invitation to come in.
