Goring
Goring is where the Thames squeezes through a gap in the Chilterns, and the house prices follow it through without breathing in. Two protected landscapes meet at the bridge, one county on each bank, and between them they make sure nothing new gets built that might spoil anybody's view of the other. People who move here say they came for the walks along the Ridgeway. They came for the train to Reading, and then they stopped taking it.
