Woodcote
Woodcote is a post-war village that got into the Chilterns on a technicality and has kept quiet about its build dates ever since. The hills and woods are real and start at the end of the close. The bungalows sit behind hedges trimmed as if the parish council is marking them. Goring got the river and the station, Woodcote got two cars on every drive and a home office where the commute used to be, and anyone who calls that a hardship has never priced a cottage in Goring.
