Feock, Cornwall

Feock is what happens when a handful of creeks, a National Trust garden and a lot of money agree to keep quiet about it. The village sits five miles from Truro and behaves as though Truro is a long way away, which suits everyone who bought here after selling something in Surrey. There is a church, a sailing club, and a working assumption that anyone arriving after about 1975 is still settling in. Nobody is showing off, because the view already did that.
