Cuxton

A river village the smugglers mistook for sleepy·Kent·South East England

Cuxton has been supplying the British Museum for two hundred thousand years, first with the handaxes and later with the bricks to house them, and has never once been sent a thank-you postcard. Even the church points the wrong way, which earned the village a rhyme instead of a fix. It is a river village that would like very much to be left alone, and the last people who picked its marina for its discretion were gun smugglers, which went badly because the National Crime Agency filmed the whole thing.
