Cliffe Woods

A cul-de-sac that wandered onto the marshes and stayed·Kent·South East England

Cliffe Woods is a post-war estate that got dropped onto the Hoo Peninsula and has spent the decades since insisting it's a village. Everyone owns the house, there are two cars on every drive, and nobody has ever walked to Strood on purpose. Dickens opened Great Expectations on the marshes up the road with an escaped convict grabbing a boy in a churchyard. That's still the most dramatic thing to happen round here, and the residents would like to keep it that way.
