Mayfair

Where London's money goes to wear a tie·Greater London·London

Mayfair is named after a fair it shut down for attracting the wrong sort of crowd, and it has been politely keeping the wrong sort out ever since. The streets belong to tailors, galleries and offices, and plenty of the deeds belong to companies registered somewhere sunnier than Westminster. It is the dearest square on the Monopoly board, and for most of the people cutting through it on their way to Bond Street, the board is still the only version they will ever own.
