Kingsnorth
Kingsnorth is a village in the sense that it has a church, a name in the Domesday Book, and Ashford pressed up against it like a stranger on a full train. The Romans put a settlement here where two roads crossed. The modern contribution is a stretch of dual carriageway and a proposed station that lasted exactly as long as it took someone to look for a business case. The Roman town is still under the grass, left unexcavated as open space, which makes it the only part of Kingsnorth that can stop the builders just by lying there.
