Holbury

Pony country, with a flare stack for a nightlight·Hampshire·South East England

Holbury is the New Forest postcode the brochures crop just before the refinery chimneys come into shot. It sits on the Waterside between the ponies and the largest oil refinery in the country: a post-war spread of bungalows and semis that grew up alongside the refinery, and it has never once pretended to be anything else. A few miles west, the same money buys less house and more thatch. Holbury took the house.
