Dulverton
Dulverton is a town in a hole in the ground, and that is the entire pitch. The Barle runs through the middle of it, which is charming right up until it is not, and the town hall was a market house before someone in 1930 decided what it really needed was a grand external staircase to look at. The old workhouse is now the head office of the national park, which is either poetic or a warning, depending on how your last planning application went. Come for the deer, stay because the road out is longer than you thought.
