Bassingbourn
Bassingbourn is a Cambridgeshire village with a Royston postcode, which tells you whose high street it leans on and whose name it would prefer to keep off the envelope. The airfield on its northern edge has hosted American bomber crews, the Army and, briefly, a batch of Libyan trainees, a booking cancelled after incidents in Cambridge, which is one way to get a village talked about. Buyers come for the village college and the Cambridge commute, and a few winters in they are still calling it just outside Cambridge to people who have never done the drive.
