Barbican
The Barbican is a concrete estate that people who'd cross the road to avoid a council block will pay a fortune to live in, as long as someone says "brutalism" first. It went up on a bombsite as rented flats for City professionals, and those professionals have since bought them, framed the floor plans and taken up correcting visitors who say it looks like a car park. Visitors still need the yellow line painted on the walkways to find their way out, and the residents count that as proof the place works.
