Yate

Yate is what you get when a shopping centre grows a town around itself instead of the other way round. They mined the celestine out from under the fields, and once the ground was empty they filled it with estates and the kind of footpaths designed so you never have to look at a car. It sits on the edge of the Cotswolds and inherited precisely none of the good looks, which is why Chipping Sodbury a mile east spends its whole life pretending they are not related.
