Stoke Gifford
Stoke Gifford is what happens when a Domesday village stops paying attention for nine hundred years and wakes up as a car park with a mainline station attached. Osbern Giffard took the manor off William the Conqueror; his reward has spent the last four decades being carved into cul-de-sacs by planners who thought a roundabout counted as a landmark. The station is the honest bit, because Bristol Parkway is genuinely more famous than the place it sits in. Everything else is Bradley Stoke with better rail links and a past it's far too polite to bring up.
