North Baddesley
North Baddesley's most famous son spent his career with his hand up a green duck puppet, which tells you roughly the level of drama the place aspires to. The Knights Hospitaller ran the manor for four hundred years and then left, and not a great deal has topped that for incident since. It is a village of tidy post-war streets named after the landowners who sold off the fields, filled with people who wanted to be near Southampton without the inconvenience of actually living in Southampton, and got precisely that.
