Haddenham, Buckinghamshire
Haddenham was a market town for about five minutes in the thirteenth century, until Thame objected to the competition, and it has been getting even ever since by keeping the station Thame has to share a name with. It used to be a hotbed of farm-labourer radicalism. These days the most radical thing on Church End is a strongly worded planning objection, usually about a pub that has already become somebody's house.
