Fordingbridge
Fordingbridge is where the New Forest runs out of ponies and starts doing errands. The railway shut in 1964 and the town has been quietly getting on with it ever since, which is the most Fordingbridge thing imaginable. It has a medieval bridge, a Grade I church, and a bypass that half the county treats as the road to somewhere better. Salisbury gets the cathedral, Ringwood gets the retail park, and Fordingbridge gets on with lunch.
