Exmouth
Exmouth is what happens when a town spends two hundred years insisting it is a resort and the sea keeps agreeing, right up until it comes over the wall. Devon's oldest seaside town built itself on invalids who came for the salt water, and it now runs on people who came for the same thing with better waterproofs and a paddleboard. The sand dunes went in the storms, the golf course became a zoo and then stopped being a zoo, and the town carried on regardless, which is the most Exmouth thing about it. It is a proper working town wearing a holiday town's clothes, and it wears them well enough that most people never notice the difference.
