Milford on Sea
Milford on Sea is where the well-off go to retire and study the Isle of Wight through a very good pair of binoculars. It has three small concrete piers, which is either two more than anyone needs or proof that ambition washed out with the tide sometime around the war. The beach is shingle, the cliffs are quietly sliding into the sea, and nobody here is in a hurry about any of it. Genteel, comfortable, and slowly eroding, all while behaving as though it isn't.
