Is Frimley a safe area?

For anyone buying or renting in Frimley.

Yes, and a little safer than the borough it sits in. Crime runs slightly below the local average. Unemployment barely registers. Nobody is crammed in. Frimley's crime figures describe a comfortable suburb, and the numbers mostly agree with the net curtains.

In the year from June 2025 to May 2026, Surrey Police recorded 1,141 crimes in Frimley, and the published rate works out at about 58 per 1,000 residents. That sits roughly 8% below the average for Surrey Heath. It is a modest gap, not a canyon. Frimley is safer than its borough in the way one tidy cul-de-sac is tidier than the next.

For comparison, the rate across Surrey Heath as a whole was about 63 per 1,000 residents over the same year. Put the two numbers side by side, 58 against 63, and the difference is real but small. Anyone moving from elsewhere in the borough won't notice a change. Anyone moving from a city centre will think the police have gone on strike.

The neighbourhood producing those numbers is a settled one. Population density averages about 3,900 people per square kilometre, which is suburban rather than urban. Unemployment stands at about 2%, and about 2% of households are overcrowded. Those figures describe streets of houses with drives and people with jobs to go to. They don't explain the crime rate on their own, but they describe the kind of place it happens in.

Violence and sexual offences make up the largest share of recorded crime, at about 42%, against about 35% across England and Wales. That sounds worse than it is: the category is the largest almost everywhere and covers a wide range, including common assault without injury. Frimley's share sits a little above the national one, not in a different league. Anti-social behaviour accounts for about 15%, close to the national 16%. Public order offences and criminal damage each take about 9%, against about 7% nationally, and other theft also sits at about 9%, against 7%. Vehicle crime is about 4%, a shade below the national 5%. None of it is dramatic. Most of the local share sits within a couple of points of the country's.

Reporting a crime and seeing someone charged are two separate things, and Frimley can't do much about the second. Across the whole force area, Surrey Police charges a suspect in about 11% of cases, against about 12% nationally, which places it 30th of 42 forces over the same year. About 36% of cases close with no suspect identified. That is a force-wide figure, not a verdict on Frimley's streets, and it measures what happens after a crime, not how likely one is. The crime rate tells you how safe Frimley is. The charge rate tells you what to expect from the paperwork.

Safety is one of Frimley's stronger points: slightly calmer than a borough that was never rough to begin with, and nothing in the mix to keep a buyer awake.
