The village's own two are Goffs Oak Primary & Nursery School and Woodside Primary School. The other five, Bonneygrove and Flamstead End among them, are a short drive away on the Cheshunt side. Goffs Oak Primary has the village's name on it, so most buyers ask about it first.

At secondary level there are two mainstream state schools in the area, and their pupils average an Attainment 8 score of about 47 at sixteen. Goffs Academy went by a different name before it became an academy. It is in Cheshunt, not in the village it is named after. St Mary's Church of England High School is the other one. With only two to choose between, parents choose quickly, and some find at eleven that a school can carry a village's name without being in it.

Places are allocated under Hertfordshire County Council's published admissions rules, so living close to Goffs Oak Primary or Goffs Academy does not on its own get your child a place, and the council's admissions team can show you how far from each school places went in recent rounds. That distance is the figure to check for any house you are considering, because for a family who moved here for the schools it matters as much as the price.
