What are the schools like in Weybourne (Waverley)?

For anyone buying or renting in Weybourne (Waverley).

The schools are good, and the house prices already know it. More than nine in ten graded schools across Surrey are good or better. The nearest primary is a short walk. The nearest secondary is a short drive. Parents here aren't buying a garden so much as a school run.

Around here, there are two mainstream state primaries, and their pupils averaged a Key Stage 2 maths score of about 102. Two schools is a small base, so treat that number as a snapshot of a pair, not a verdict on a generation. Among the named primaries on this edge of Farnham are Badshot Lea Village Infant School and William Cobbett Primary School. The Department for Transport's 2019 modelling puts the nearest primary about ten minutes' walk from the typical Weybourne home, which is close enough that the car stays on the drive and the argument happens on the pavement instead.

At secondary level, the two mainstream state secondaries in the area posted a pupil-weighted Attainment 8 score of about 51. Weydon School and Farnham Heath End are the names most local families will weigh up, with other options further afield. The same modelling puts the nearest secondary about 21 minutes on foot or nine minutes by car. That walk is long enough for a teenager to invent a reason why they need a lift, and short enough that the reason won't survive scrutiny.

Ofsted's grades are for Surrey as a whole, not for Weybourne alone, and on that wider patch 147 of 159 graded schools are rated good or better. That's more than nine in ten, with 30 rated outstanding. Seven are graded requires improvement and five inadequate, so a Surrey address is not a blanket guarantee, just very good odds. It's a county where "good" is the floor parents expect and "outstanding" is what they mention at the school gate.

A school's name on this page is not a place at it. Admissions run on the council's rules and each school's own criteria, and the house two streets closer can win a place yours doesn't. The rules are published and honest about it. They're just not sentimental about the extension you built for the playroom. Check the admissions arrangements and last year's allocations for the exact address before the offer goes in, not after.

Schools are one of Weybourne's real strengths: close to home, solidly performing, and sitting in a county where good or better is the norm rather than the exception. Families who do the admissions homework will find the education is the part of the house price that earns its keep.

Check it for your address. Admission rules and inspection results change from year to year, so before counting on a place, read the latest reports on Ofsted and your council's admissions rules.
